By Public Transport: Kitale may be reached by frequent bus and 'matatu' (minibus) services from Eldoret, Kampala, the Ugandan border, Kakamega or Lodwar (several services each day). From Nairobi and Kampala, there are direct buses but most terminate at Eldoret. There are also night buses.

There are once-daily (morning) flights from Nairobi Wilson Airport to Eldoret or Kisumu (approx US$100 each way with a baggage allowance of 10kg).

An alternative way of travel to western Kenya is by train. Passenger trains do not stop at Eldoret or Kitale but you can take an overnight train from Nairobi to Kisumu then travel by 'matatu' to Kakamega, before taking another 'matatu' to Kitale. The bus to Kitale from Lodwar (6-8 hours) costs Kshs 800. The bus from Eldoret (2 hours) costs Kshs 200. (Please check for latest prices.)

From Lodwar/Kitale Town: Drive towards Eldoret, past Kitale Regional Museum, Pinewood. Immediately after the Total Petrol Station turn left. At the T junction, turn right and then take the first left (at the mini roundabout). Continue around the bend. At the crossroads, turn left and go down the hill. We are the last house on the right. (Taxi from town approximately Kshs 200)

From Eldoret/Kakamega/Bungoma: As you enter Kitale, go over the speed bumps, passed the Jovena petrol station and the Kitale Academy. Take the second right turn (after the one signposted Treasures of Africa) just before the Total petrol station. At the T junction, turn right and then take the first left (at the mini roundabout). Continue around the bend. At the crossroads, turn left. We are the last house on the right.

If you do not have a vehicle, we can collect you from Kitale town or you can take a taxi, a bicycle taxi will be cheaper or it is a 25 minute walk.
