  • Hill treks in the Cheranganis
  • Marich Pass

  • Birding tours
  • Pokot markets at Sigor (Tuesday) and Lomut (Saturday)

Excursions range from a couple of hours to several days. You can spend the nights in a comfortable banda, a bush camp or in a village discovering the harsh realities (and joys) of rural life.

Tailor made excursions are available such as guided trips to Lake Turkana or cross-border trips such as white water rafting on the Nile and other trips in Uganda. We also have experienced guides for excursions into Rwanda or Sudan.

Within easy reach - But overnight or longer !

Scenic road to Nakurur/Nairobi/Lake Baringo via Eldama Ravine. This road is in better condition than the main Nairobi-Uganda road and is far less busy with lovely views! Or turn off this road to go to Kabarnet/Baringo via the Kerio Valley, Lake Kamnarock and Rongoi National Reserve.

Eastern Cherangani Hills - Half an hour north of Kitale, take the Cherangani Highway to Kapsowar and then down past indigenous forest to Iten. From Iten travel the scenic route to Kabarnet.

From Sigor/Lomut in the Western Cherangani Hills, travel to Tot and then (4wd essential) ascend steep escarpment to Kapsowar, dropping down through forest to Iten.

From Iten, turn left joining the beautiful scenic road to Kabarnet, with wonderful views all the way. The road is paved but winding and steep in places. From Kabarnet travel up into the Tugen Hills or continue towards Lake Baringo or Nakuru.

From Sigor/Lomut travel through Tot joining rough road to Lakes Baringo and Bogoria (good vehicle required) Tugen Hills, visit the viewpoint at Kipsaraman overlooking the valley beneath with stunning views of Lake Baringo, including a stop at Kipsaraman museum containing details of local fossil finds, including 'Millenium Man' and the small museum in Kabarnet town.

Lake Turkana is approx 6-8 hours drive on very rough roads ... but the scenery is wonderful.

Karibuni!
